Moldeando el poder: percepciones de los jóvenes sobre la equidad de Género en el liderazgo político chileno

Este estudio investiga el apoyo persistente a la equidad de género en el liderazgo político entre los jóvenes adultos chilenos. Analiza distintos puntos de vista en un contexto de reacción sociopolítica, apoyándose en los marcos teóricos de la representación descriptiva y sustantiva, los actores críticos y la interseccionalidad. Se empleó un enfoque de método mixto, que incluyó la realización de encuestas cuantitativas a 305 personas de entre 18 y 29 años, que incluía una pregunta abierta con el fin de obtener información cualitativa adicional. El estudio revela que una gran mayoría, que varía entre el 73% y el 86%, de los jóvenes chilenos cree que un liderazgo equilibrado en términos de género mejora la atención sanitaria, la educación, la equidad laboral y el cuidado de los niños, con patrones matizados que emergen según el género y el nivel educativo. Las mujeres con menor nivel educativo son especialmente optimistas sobre el potencial transformador, mientras que los hombres y las personas con mayor nivel educativo expresan más escepticismo, revelando una compleja interacción de optimismo y duda moldeada por experiencias directas de discriminación y privilegio. La investigación futura debería centrarse en desentrañar estas perspectivas interseccionales, y examinar las barreras culturales e institucionales dentro de los partidos políticos para promover un cambio estructural genuino.
